....... A Contribution To Local Interest In And Around The Chapeltown Area .......

Chapeltown And Surroundings .... ( Site Under Construction )

WHITLEY HALL ....... A well known landmark which lies between Chapeltown, Ecclesfield and Grenoside.

Locally known as The White House, It is still a prominent feature on the new Thorncliffe estate. At present time is HQ of Yorkshire Water.

Introduction

This site has come about because much time was spent searching for information and pictures about the industrial past of the CHAPELTOWN area.

What I have done here is to link all the local sites on one reference page. Obviously many links will be duplicated in the other sites, but that can only be a bonus for research work.

Now that all the local web sites have been referenced here. I hope this will be of assistance to others searching for local past history etc.

Included are pictures and snippits that were not published on other sites at the time.

Westwood and Thorncliffe rows are classic examples. They are discussed by many local folk, but pictures seemed to be scarce.

My Pictures come from a variety of sources and many are displayed in the local pubs in and around Chapeltown.
